If this is a remote session, choose a quiet space you won’t be disturbed.

Turn off or silence your phone and other devices to minimize distractions. Your subconscious receives the healing. Energy practitioners are the channels for life force energy, but you are the one who receives and integrates it. You heal yourself. Engaging with phones can keep the mind externally focused, preventing the nervous system from shifting into a receptive, healing state. The subconscious is more accessible when the nervous system is in a parasympathetic state.

Set an intention for the healing. You’re welcome to share it with your practitioner, especially if you’re working on things like manifestation, relationship challenges, or releasing addictions. Knowing your goal can help the energy be directed with greater clarity.

Be in the present moment (unless we’re sending Reiki to your past self, in which case, we would focus on that past moment for healing).

Emotions and memories can come to the surface, especially those that have been repressed. This allows your body and energy to heal. Let yourself feel the emotions, acknowledge them, and then let them go.

Post Session:

Take time to reflect, rest, and hydrate after the session. Eat a balanced diet of fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Some clients feel calm, clear, or even euphoric after a session. Others may notice a need for extra rest, deeper sleep, or waves of emotional release. Your body may process stored energy — this can feel like a gentle energetic detox, with temporary symptoms like fatigue or sensitivity.

All of it is valid. Trust your body’s wisdom and give yourself what you need.
